what's the purpose of custom code when using web services? events do seem to fire (when you return false in a Save Record event, an "unexpected error" is thrown via web services--when you return true, this doesn't happen), but i don't see what the point is. when you use nlapiSetFieldValue to set the value of a field, it works in the UI, but not when the function is fired during a web services operation.
