Please enter a value for Tax Code

I'm updating the AuthCode of an SO using Web Services and I get the error 'Please enter a value for Tax Code'. I expected I could set a .TaxCodeSpecified=false' or something of that nature but I don't see any like that anywhere on the sales order object.

Any help is appreciated.
