v2007-Web Services to UI Single Login error

After the recent upgrade to v2007, we started noticing problems with single signon. We submit a form with all the necessary info to:
https://system.netsuite.com/app/webservices/wslogin.nl

It has been failing with the following error:
400 Bad Request
UNEXPECTED_ERROR

It used to work just fine. A weird thing I noticed is that if I simply visit https://system.netsuite.com and then try the login form then it works!!!
The login code in the backend appears to relying on a cookie (NS_VER: 2007.0.5) that gets set when one visits https://system.netsuite.com. It seems really odd that such a bug got introduced. Is anybody experiencing the same problem? Any suggestions to fix it cleanly?
