Weird login problem

I am having a very odd login problem.   We are changing servers and I was doing a basic test (login / logout) but on login I get an "InvalidCredentials" fault.

I'm using the same code on both servers.   I'm finding the class library, since I can instantiate the passport object and use the set and get methods successfully.   But every login attempt fails.  

I must have forgotten something basic, but what?
