What's a very large result set for NetSuite?

We're working with the 2013_1 endpoint, Web Services, java. 

What's considered 'large' for a result set from a search? (yes, I realize there's lots of variables here.  just trying to get a general idea)

What's considered 'unreasonable' for a result set to a search?

Should a result set of 20,000 records, coming back with page size of 1000, be no big deal?

Thanks in advance for any experience or advice you can offer.
