How to create Record Structure(metadata) using code.

Hi,

We have to do data migration from a platform (JDE ERP / SAP) to Netsuite.
We are analysing the option of building a connector for it.

Is there any way of creating metadata (the record structure) using webservices or suitescript.
Normally in Netsuite we create the record structure using the UI, is there any way of doing this via code?

Your suggestions on this will be very useful.
