User License for Old Consultant - Change Password

We have a user license that our old consultant used that I would like to change the password on. I think that some scripts and web service items user this login. (Is there a way to see what is tied to this user login/pw?) What is the best way to approach changing this password? I am also not sure what will break if I do go in and change. Any help would be appreciated.
