How to get defaulted/looked up values when entering Customer Deposit

Am trying to enter a Customer Deposit record for a sales order using SuiteTalk. I set the customer, then the salesorder, then the paymentmethod and then call AddRecord and then I get USER_ERROR: "Please enter value(s) for: Payment Amount".

However, when I follow the same process in the UI then payment (Payment Amount) is set automatically to the value of the sales order.

How can I get the same behaviour in SuiteTalk?

(I'm using WDSL 2018.1 and USE CONDITIONAL DEFAULTS ON ADD is checked.)
