Unused Portion of Gift Certificates

edited Jun 23, 2006 7:36PM in Web Site / E-Commerce 2 comments

Hi

First let me say how happy I was to see Gift Certificates in V11

My reading of the release notes for V11 would indicate that if there is an unused portion of a gift certificate, then the recipient must retain and re-enter the certificate number when they wish to use the balance. That is, the unused portion is not retained in the recipient's account and applied automatically during the next purcahse (which to my way of thinking is the better way to handle it.

Having said that, is there a way we can find out the Gift Certificate number if the customer happens to lose it? Because that will certainly happen. And how can we be sure that the person contacting us was the intended recipient?

Howdy, Stranger!
