{today} Dynamic Default??

in Web Site / E-Commerce

I am trying to get a field to put a time stamp on Web Store orders.  I have tried all kinds of custom fields set to "Current Date and Time" also using {today} with store value "unchecked".  I can't seem to get the time to come through the web store? 

Can some one please help?  Is this possible.  All of these options work in the UI but not Web Store... why would that be?
