Problem Downloading Large Files in Website

We recently created a partner portal as an adjunct to our webstore.  Some of the materials in that protal are sales presentations that are 2.5-3MB in size.  Working in native Netsuite, we can unload these files with no difficulties; but if we try to download from the website, it fails after it gets about halfway, and just locks up.  Has anyone else ever seen this?  I think tech support thinks I'm crazy.
