NLITEMLIST within a defined area

in Web Site / E-Commerce

Is it possible to put the tag <NLITEMLIST> in a table cell without it taking over the whole width of the table? 

I need to have a list of current news stories and updates on our home page and would like to use information items that are 'featured items'.  So far when I try to do that it kills my table.
