Terms and Conditions at first login

Did anyone implement a click through T's and C's for customers?  While Netsuite does provide a T's and C's box on the shopping cart, I was not able to make that work for initial access. We do have a Customer portal, accessible for customers only, i.e no public access. 
My challenge is , that we have entered a customer record and are ready to provide login password, but first need to create an artifact or customer record field that tracks the customers accepting of the T's and C's.
Appreciate any pointers ....
