conditionally showing/hiding item options for personalization based on user input

New user of Netsuite's web store / site customization functionality, thanks in advance for any help you can provide on this question.
We sell personalized products where the customer can choose the type of personalization to place on the product, and each type of personalization requires the specification of different options. We are trying to setup our webstore and have hit a roadblock - we can't figure out how to conditionally show UI elements based on what a user selects in one of the UI elements for the item.
Our plan was to enable this type of custom UI by defining a "main" item option field that would be a drop down list where the customer would choose the type of personalization they want, where the options would be:
