Online CC Auth - Any Problems?

Want to know your opinions on whether to authorize credits cards during checkout or not.

Do you experience problems with authorization during checkout which may reduce sales?

Our current site (non-netsuite) does not auth online so if there is a problem when we auth the credit card we have the order and call the customer to resolve the issue. When we go live with our Netsuite site we would like to auth online during checkout.
