Same part # for multiple items question

Hi,

We have some products that we will need to create items with different product names and descriptions but will actually be the same part # that will need to be pulled from inventory.  Anyone have any thoughts on how I could create these items properly or will I have to make them totally seperate items and then divide inventory?
