Translation of information item inside item drilldown

I have the following tag inside an item drilldown template.

<%=getAttribute('infoitem','5','itemid')%>

The information is pulled but the translations do not work for this tag.  The rest of the page is translated except for the information that is pulled from the information item that is outside of the current item.  It is always in English.

Any ideas on how I might get this to work or what I might be doing wrong?
