Order Number Format XXXX-XXXX

in Web Site / E-Commerce

Hi all,

I was just wondering why web order numbers have the format XXXX-YYYY, where internally it just shows as YYYY.  The full XXXX-YYYY shows up on the Memo section.

I don't really see this being particularly useful, so I was just wondering if anybody else knew why this is setup this way.
