Dynamic drop down menu

Does anybody has a startingpoint or a code to make a (dynamic) horizontal CSS or javaScript dropdown menu, containing all tabs and categories...or even know if it's possible?

I get [Error processing dynamic tag getAttribute('recordType','id','attribute') : id paramter 2 must be an integer]

And I tried this <%=getAttribute('recordType','id','attribute')%>
