Tags not working properly

I'm using the <NLCARTTOTAL> tags to show the total of the shopping cart on my site. The problem is, when I placed this tag on my hosted page, it comes out "0". When I placed this within the Netsuite pages, it works. Does these tags not work on Hosted HTML pages? I always thought it did worked. WE are using the multiple site feature in netsuite. Can someone help me?
