"Empty Cart" button, going to be implemented soon?

I've been requesting for a simple "Empty Cart" button on the shopping cart page for almost 2 years already and we still do not have this simple function that every other online shopping cart has as of today. 

Our customers sometimes add hundreds of items to the cart and if they want to start fresh they have to delete the items one by one.  Is there any workaround for this at all?  Is this simple function going to be implemented soon?  Thanks.
