"Search" options on our site

Hi,

It appears that when customers search on our site, their seach looks at either the item # or the "Search Keywords" we've entered in the item template.

We would like the option or inclusion of "MANF ID" .

As I see it, at this time we could only acheive that by entering the "MANF ID" into the "Search Keywords" feild in the item template.

Any easier way? or am I
