Installation downloads for Asia/Europe

To improve our customer interaction, we have created a download site (different from the built-in feature) which allows them to browse the complete set of product downloads.  This is being hosted in the file cabinet 'Site' folders so we can use friendly url names.  However, our customers in Asia and Europe report that downloads stop partway through with a 'Download Complete' indication.  The resulting file is, of course, corrupt and cannot be installed. 

Files range from 30MB-130MB in size, and all have had this problem for these customers, and a few customer in North America.  The file types are typical .msi or installshield installers.  Any thoughts on what's going on here?  If I can't solve this, I'll have to abandon this solution, and go back to self-hosting the downloads.
