How to Customize Formatting of Special Pricing for Matrix Price Ranges

I am trying to customize the website text for when a matrix item is on special. It is fairly straightforward for normal item pricing where there is one price, but for a price range I am having difficulty.

The "customize text" page only allows you to format the first part of the price (the "Special Price:" part). There is no {1}-{2} type of tag for you to format the ACTUAL PRICE part. Does anyone have a fix for this?

If you navigate to setup > website > customize text > messages it is near the top of the list. The first one appears for matrix pricing
