Customer Login and Price Level Info

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to determine 1) Whether a web visitor is logged in, and if so, 2) their Price Level.  I am trying to put code in a page init of a custom form for which the outcome is determined by Customer Price Level.  Does anyone know how to best do this?  I get errors on my page with whatever I try and don't know the best route to take.  I would keep going with something if I knew it was the correct way to go.  Thanks!
