Hide featured items??

Ok... I rather not have to do a bunch of javascript to accomplish such a simple thing. Is there something...somewhere, anywhere within the NS settings that will show/hide featured items on the front page? I have a few items that I have marked as featured, but DO NOT want them to display on the front page. For one, I can't tell it where to display.

Where can I set it to not display or how can I change the location of where these things are displayed?
