NS Hosted Site / External CMS

We are looking for a way we can use the hosted advanced NS e-commerce solution while pulling non store related content from a separate content managment system (CMS) that provides additional info pages, blog and podcast management, etc.
My guess is that we will need to build an external store that uses the WSDK and we will need to host the store on our servers. Obviously I am hoping for some feedback from you all.
My hope is that someone has come up with an elegant solution that leverages the power of the hosted NS ecommerce functionality with an outside content management for the rest of the site. This would have to be accomplished under a single domain - no subdomains to handle a particular side of the site. Any examples would be helpfull.
