Geeting field values from Child matrix Items

in Web Site / E-Commerce

Does anybody now how to get a custom field value from a child matrix item and place it into a custom item field on the parent?

For example, I have a cutom item field "custitem_cut" that I put an interger in for all child matrix items. I want to be able to total them into the "custitem_totalcut" field in the parent item.

Please help. Thank you.
