External Catalog Site (WSDK) problem

We are not using External Catalog Site (WSDK). Bur we want to customize our products options cvia javascript or flash. To use javascript or flash to submit product options, do we have to switch External Catalog Site (WSDK). Can we use both netsuite system and External Catalog Site (WSDK) ?
