Web Store Overselling Items

Hopefully someone has a solution to this!
We have multiple physical retail locations that we pull product from on a daily basis and bring to our warehouse to fulfill web store orders.  If we have 5 pieces available at one of our retail stores and 10 backorders for that specific item Netsuite will not remove that item from the web store because the items at the retail store are not technically accounted for.  Once we transfer that item over to the warehouse for fulfillment the 5 pieces become committed and we have to cancel the remaining orders.  This is a huge problem for us right now; we
