Browser Firefox 3.0.10 delays on Jscript

We had a custom Jscript written and applied to a Custom Web Form for the website. The Jscript seems to get called at each point in the webstore checkout process. With FireFox there is 25 second delay for EACH step in the checkout process.

Using TamperData I have verified that the Jscript is the issue. We could use some advice as to how to rectify the situation. One issue is that the company that wrote the script cannot replicate the delay that we see in checkout (the delay is verified by consumers aswell).
