Mass Updating w/ Formulas

I decided to use the "formula" field in a mass update today, but I don't think I am going to be able to do what I wanted...

I wanted to design a new meta tag for each item that would use formula to insert the value of the "store display name" into the meta tag like this:

<meta name="description" content="{storedisplayname} | Best American Arts">

I was getting an error with my formula when I try it... is something like this possible?
