Exclude Information Items from the search

I have a global search in my site that brings up items that matches the search text field data.
It brings up items including the information items.
I have not checked the "Include Information Items" in the search tab, but still it shows up in the search.
Is there any other settings that makes the information items not to appear in the search?

Any help is appreciated.
