Customer Center versus My Account

in Web Site / E-Commerce

I'm looking for someone who really understands the differences between using the website (shopping.netsuite.com) and the customer center (system.netsuite.com).  We are trying to build a very simple customer portal only displaying results from the custom records - we do not need to report data from standard Netsuite transactions.

Would someone be willing to take a few minutes to help me understand the practical differences of using shopping.netsuite.com versus system.netsuite.com?
