Dynamic default for date field not showing up in WebStore.

in Web Site / E-Commerce

I have a transaction body field - date field ie applied to Sale and WebStore.
I am setting the Dynamic default to "Current Date/Time".

The date field in the Sales Order shows the current date, but the date field doesn't show any value in the WebStore. Why is it not defaulting the date in the WebStore?
Any help is appreciated.
