Changing customer Access password/email in customer record

Can anyone translate what exactly the following sentence, which apprears in ACCESS tab of a customer record, means?


Contacts of this company can be given login access to the Customer Center in addition to the company's general email address.

Granting new access requires a password; updating access does not. :eek:
