Customer Centre - Website categories

We are starting to use the customer centre but we have some categories on our website that are also appearing as published into the customer centre when the customer logs in.

How do i remove these from view for the customer centre role?

We have a generic customer centre role that all online customers are assigned to but we also now have a custom role for the new customer centre visitors and the website categories are appearing in this role.
