how can i remove site navigation portlet from registration page checkout

Hello,
I need to remove left side navigation portlet from my registration checkout pages..
how do i do that, i have customized a theme, and i removed the content from all portlet blockes under Sidebars.

it results the content cof the portlet is gone, but still the portlet block is still there we can not avoid it, can you please help on this
