Adding Review and Submit Page Custom Fields to Shipping Method Page Not Quite Working

The netsuite checkout  organization as it concerns custom fields isn't acceptable. I thought I had a workaround, but it's not working like it should.

The javascript below is what I used to add three of our custom fields from the review and submit page to our shipping method page. (I added this script in the checkout tab and substituted it for another block of code within a netsuite tag in the Tag Substitution area, after adding a span element with an ID of "shippage" to the "shipping method" text under Website>customize text):
