Search redirects

Has anyone found a way to do the following. When searching for popular terms the user is redirected to a category or tab of choice. The benefit would be rather than showing the user a bunch of search results take them to a landing page that is more relevant. For example, if someone searches for light bulbs, insteading of showing them all results with light bulbs in the title and description, take them to a category called light bulbs.
