Matrix Name/Number field, how to determine order of part number

edited Jun 28, 2011 2:42PM in Web Site / E-Commerce 8 comments

On the auto-genrated child Matrix Name/Number field, how can we determine order in which the number is created?

So, if you sell "hats" and your matrix is:

Size: S, M, L
Color: Red, White, Blue

And your parent item has the ID of "HAT".

So, NetSuite has created these matrix children...

HAT-S-Red
HAT-M-Red
HAT-L-Red
HAT-S-White
HAT-M-White
HAT-L-White
HAT-S-Blue
HAT-M-Blue
HAT-L-Blue

..but you now need to create the part numbers like this...

HAT-Red-S
HAT-Red-M
HAT-Red-L
HAT-White-S
HAT-White-M
HAT-White-L
HAT-Blue-S
HAT-Blue-M
HAT-Blue-L

Can those auto generated numbers be reconfigured to be put in a different order without rebuilding the matrix item from scratch?  I know that I could manually adjust the item number on each of the children, but I'm looking for a quicker way when I have several hundred child items to adjust.

Howdy, Stranger!
