Can you sort items in a category using a custom field?

in Web Site / E-Commerce

The default sorting options for the categories are:

Sequence — Lists items in the order they appear on the category record.
Name — Lists items alphabetically by name.
Price — Lists items by price, low to high.

Is there a way to specify another field for sorting? We would like to add a custom field to the items and be able to sort by it? Thanks
