Order acknowledgments coming thru in a .dat file format to customer

We have a customer who is using an old version of Outlook Express and won't upgrade.

The order confirmations that are sent from NetSuite are coming through as .dat files.  I can fix this on my Exchange server or in Outlook by defining the recipient to recieve plain text emails:

Can I do something similiar in NetSuite to define what format the customer can recieve.
