CSC validation is performed offline now

edited Jun 9, 2011 8:36PM in Web Site / E-Commerce 1 comment

Hi all,

Did you notice that Credit Card CSC validation is now performed offline?

A few months ago if you entered an invalid CSC number, the NetSuite webstore would say "incorrect credit card information" and ask you to enter that info again.
Our customers just noticed that now when you enter an invalid Credit Card CSC number, the webstore says "thank you for your order" and send them an order confirmation email.
The catch is: when you try to bill that order later, it says "unapproved payment". At that point it is too late to do anything because you first fulfill and then you bill, so if there is an EDI process in place, the order was fulfilled already... Even if you dont have an EDI process, you will not be able to bill that order and you will need to hire customer reps to call customers and let them know that their credit card transaction was declined, which sounds very suspicious.

Howdy, Stranger!
