dynamically load a list of categories / items with NetSuite hosted HTML

Good morning,
I have a question: if I create a WebStore using HTML pages + NetSuite tags, is there a way to dynamically load a list of categories and relative items without knowing which ones and how many while developing the page?

For the moment I know that i can write (for example):

 [...]  <tr>    <td>      <%=getAttribute('item',1,'attribute_x')%>    </td>  </tr>  <tr>    <td>      <%=getAttribute('item',2,'attribute_x')%>    </td>  </tr>  [...]
