Work with Blank space on Published Forms

I've published a few customer forms. When using a single column there is a lot of empty space to the right of the form in most of my templates. Is there a way to make use of this space? Every place I attempt to edit in either the form itself, or in the Publish Forms Item appear above the form. I'd really like to work with the space to the right, or underneath it if I went to a 2 column form.
