Can I show what is in the cart on WSDK site?

I have a WSDK site and would like to show a mini cart with the items that are currently in the cart. I have the number of items and total value but want a slightly my comprehensive view. Can anyone point me in a direction that may work? Will the changes coming in the new cart/checkout provide a way for this?
