Turning off 'Require Authorisation for Credit Card Transactions'

in Web Site / E-Commerce

If I turn off 'Require Authorisation for Credit Card Transactions' in Website Setup but force 'getauth' to be true in the submitted sales order (via suitescript):

[*]will the customer be notified of a failed authorisation
[*]or will it simply create a sales order on hold (because of auth failure), leaving the customer thinking they've successfully completed the transaction?
