Confirmation Page Total Doesn't Match Order

Our confirmation page (Thank you page) does not show the shipping cost so the total shown to the customer after they have placed their order is showing less than the actual order.  The order received email doesn't show the shipping cost either.  Is there a setting to get the shipping cost to show on the Thank you page and therefore the order received email?
