Search/Filter Published Saved Search

I want to be able to publish a saved search to the public website and then allow users to filter the content of the published saved search by selecting a dropdown on one of the columns.

eg List all customers and their category and allow users to filter specific categories.

On the same token, how can I get the Category to form part of the global search results.

eg Search Accommodation and all items that are in the Accommodation category appear on the search results.
